Installing AcidSearch is like feeding steroids to your Safari search bar. This plugin lets you add your favorite search channels and reorganize them with ease. Its preferences menu provides loads of settings from which you can configure your search bar to work just how you want it.

The developer page says that you need Safari 1.2 or higher so you should not have any problems making it work with 3.0.3. Try uninstalling it and reinstalling it to see if it works.
ps: to uninstall AcidSearch, open the installer (if you saved it) and click the uninstall button, or simply delete /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/AcidSearch.bundle and optionally the entire /Library/InputManagers/SIMBL directory.
