Joost invitations up for grabs!
As promised last week, insideTonic now has a couple of Joost invitations to distribute among you, the readers. For those who haven’t heard about it yet, Joost is one of a handful of applications which are looking to bring streaming TV to your PC/Mac. Developed by the guys behind such huge projects as Kazaa and Skype, Joost makes use of peer-to-peer networking and advanced video compression to provide multiple stations and shows in a cool, modern design. Joost is already one of the programs of the year.
All we ask in return is one simple thing: give us one reason why you’re the person who deserves an invite! The best two answers (as judged by our expert panel) will receive an invitation within a few days. As we receive more invitations, we’ll send more out… so keep those comments coming! Please note, you’ll need to provide a valid email address with your comment so that we can send you an invite if you win.

I’m very interested in Joost, and would love to check it out. I think it’s a pretty revolutionary — and is going to bring a big shift for the medai/entertainment industry. (You know, the whole cable-bypass/”over the top” shift. Anyway, I’d love to try it out!

Nothing special here, I do not do podcasts or technology reviews. I am the average plebeian without cable and watch most of my shows online, legally if I can. Joost interests me immensely and I would be supremely grateful if I were to receive an invitation.

Ordinary student here just looking forward to check out Joost. I hear they have Canadian channels and I’m sort of a Canada fan. I even spent ten months in Winnipeg can you believe that?

I believe this is the future of television, itl be streamed to your tv and I would love to be one of the first to be involved. However I live inbn Ireland which means while this could be true in a year or two in America, it will be ten years before we get something like this over here. I live with 2 girls and a guy and we dont have a television at all in the house! This would be perfect! Please help us out!

I should get an invite because I love to watch TV and movies but my parents cut off cable and I’ve been too busy with my computer to watch whatever channels we have. If I had Joost, I could watch TV and do my homework at the same time. Also if I had invites, I would give it back to the community (the way I did for gmail and orkut).
I really wish to get an invite; I’ve been looking for just one invite for weeks.

I have set up my computer to steam all my video to my TV set, and I have to say it’s great I no longer record any of my shows, and it sound like Joost may make my Media center complete. I also wish to add if I receive an invitation/ token to joost from your site I will return and give back my token back to you. Thank you for your consideration.

Top ten reasons I should get the Joost Invite are:
10. I’m a misguided rocket scientist. A joost invite would keep me and the world out of trouble.

On second thought, perhaps Reynaldo Cabrera should get the Joost Invite.
He can steam his video. I can Microwave mine, but I’ve yet to steam any video successfully. Give it Cabrera for most creative way to receive or store video. Good job!!!

Your to kind Mike, I’ll let you in to the trick on how to steam your video. First you get a long enough S-video cable to run from your TV to your computer, then you adjust the Overlay settings of your graphic card, and their you go steam video. Oh I forgot, you have to set the rice steamer right in the middle between the TV and computer. Ha ha sorry for the typo.

Maybe because the MAN restricts everything here at work and the MAN has not caught on to how to restrict Joost yet. So, if I get a token I will stick it to the MAN. Any invites I am allowed to send out will be to others who can stick it to the MAN too. Thanks man.

I live in Turkey and miss out on so many of the good shows in the US. Downloading from iTunes or elsewhere is a nightmare, as download times are “87 hours” etc. for shows like Prison Break, Grey’s Anatomy, 24, and Lost. There has got to be a better way! Thanks for considering me.

Even though they are cable services available on the island they are VERY expensive.

Ok, lets get this out of the way. I’m 826lbs, I haven’t been able to get out of my computer chair since October 06 when i dressed up as a giant pumpkin on wheels. Really the internet and TV are all I have. Internet porn is no good to me because I can’t reach my penis so I need some actual programming. Why not earn some karma and help a jolly fellow out?

Well…I’m the person who deserves an invitation to use joost because I live in a third world(brazil) and here we don’t have all the channels like in USA Or europe. With joost i will be conected to all the information in the world…

Hello,
Please send me an invitation for Joost TV. I have a number of reasons why I deserve the invitation, such as:
1. Among my roommates is an unemployed anarchist grafitti artist whose “movement” required the defiling of my innocent television
2. Among my roommates is also his dog, Oiticica, who also demonstrated his anti-materialist sympathies on my now already defiled TV once it landed on the carpet (following my other roommates’ pink spray tantrum)
3. My third roommate plays golf…inside.
4. All my roommates, for some reason, adore Apple laptops and have pledged not to touch my computer.
I hope these reasons suffice for the Joost TV.

One reason to receive an invitation from you to get that new video software to watch tv is simple… I got hi resolution screen on my computer where I could watch tv freely the way I want when my wife is watching her own show on our tv set in our appartment. That way I keep a good relationship with my lovely wife!

Why would I like an invite? Well, I had kidney failure 7 weeks ago. So, I am on dialisis, and have been put on the organ donor program. So, until that comes through. I will be bed ridden. So, any type of entertainment, to get my mind off this situation, for a little while. Would be greatly appreciated.
