Create original posters with your own photos

There are many ways of being creative with your pictures, but have you ever thought about posters? If not, try Poster Forge and see how fun it can be! This program enables you to create posters with your own pictures in just a few minutes and with no design skills required. When done, save the poster as an image file or print your creation in as big a size as you want.

I am fairly new at this. (And computers also!) What I would like to do, being the secretary of a jazz society, is download a photo of, for example, a musical instrument. (This I can already do). I would then like to ‘play’ with the image. maybe turning it from it’s vertical position to a diagonal position on the page and then, possibly ‘playing’ with it’s shape. Maybe making it a sort of curved shape, similar to a banana.Possibly put text on top of it. (I can do this with a ‘watermark picture’)
If this programme does that, I would be willing to download and start learning!
Any advice if it won’t do this? (If the programme is freeware, all the better, but if it has to be payed for, then that’s OK too!
Regards
Colin

Hello Colin,
the best choice for you would definitely be Photoshop. But if you’re looking for something easier to use -and cheaper too, then you can try The Gimp or PhotoFiltre, two free photo editors that we reviewed a while ago.
Also, don’t forget to take a look around our blog. We’ve got some posts on how to apply watermarks and also a few Photoshop tutorials:
- Cheer up a picture with Photoshop
- Add a painting effect to your photos
- Transform a photo into a drawing
- Apply an ageing effect to your photos
Cheers,
Elena
